Prelim Results | Final Results

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ithaca College and Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team competed in the final day of the NCAA Championships Saturday. The Bombers finished 24th overall in the team scoring, while the Ducks placed 29th.

Kenyon College won the title with 480 total points and Denison was second. Emory took third, Johns Hopkins was fourth and MIT was fifth to round out the top of the leaderboard.

Stevens sophomore Ravi Sun placed 13th in the 200-yard backstroke. Sun re-broke his team-record of 1:48.97 set in the prelims with a 1:48.71 in the consolation final to pick up four team points for the Ducks. His finish also netted him honorable mention All-America honors as an individual for the first time.
 
The 400-yard freestyle relay team also earned honorable mention All-America accolades with a 15th place finish. The group of sophomore Tomasz Wolinski, sophomore Joshua Lefeber, senior Nick Noga and senior Shawn Hanak combined for a 3:02.00 in the prelims to earn the No. 11 seed in the consolation final, before ending up 15th in the nation behind a 3:03.58.
 
Wolinski broke his own school-record in the 100-yard freestyle prelims, placing 20th with a 45.32 in what was an excellent swim for the second-year Duck.
 
Ithaca junior Peter Knight placed 41st overall in the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries, finishing in a time of 45.91. Sophomore Adam Zelehowsky took 46th in the 100 free, finishing the morning session in a time of 46.23. Ithaca also competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay, but suffered a disqualification in the preliminary morning race.
