NCAA Swimming & Diving Qualifiers Announced

Twenty-seven members (23 swimmers and four divers) of the Empire 8 men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been invited to participate at the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships. 

The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Committee has announced the participants in the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Diving championships.

The championships will be held March 19-22 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. The Indiana Sports Corp and Franklin College will serve as the hosts. A total of 527 participants (479 swimmers and 48 divers) will compete in the championships. Preliminary events begin each day at 10 a.m. with finals sessions beginning at 6 p.m. Avideo webcast of each session is available through NCAA.com.

Student-athletes qualified for the swimming portion of the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered.  Divers were determined by performances achieved at the Regional Diving meets

Stevens will be sending nine swimmers to the national meet. Sophomore Joshua Lefeber, sophomore Ravi Sun, senior Shawn Hanak, senior Tyler Hessler, sophomore Tommy Wolinski, and senior Nick Noga will all swim individual events with senior Conor Arcuri, junior Jack Rees and junior Alex Xu all making the trip as members of relays. 

Ithaca will also be sending nine swimmers to the national meet. Seniors Peter Knight, Zack Kundel, Connor White, Taylor Van Cott, sophomore Adam Zelehowsky and junior Lucas Zelehowsky have all qualifed in individual events and will also take part in relays along with graduate student Chris Cadwll, senior John Carr and sophomore Addison Hebert. 

The final representative on the men's side of the swimming events will be Alfred junior David Luke. 
 
On the women's side, Stevens junior Brittany Geyer will be making her third appearance at the national meet, with sophomore Elizabeth Heinbach making her second appearance and junior Maria McClure earning the honor for the first time in her career.

Ithaca freshman Grace Ayer will continue her dominate season at the national meet where she will swim in three individual events.

The Empire 8 will be represented on the diving boards by Ithaca junior Matt Morrisonfreshman Nickie Griesemer, graduate student Heather Markus and Hartwick senior Lindsay Bowker.
