Juniata knocks off Alfred, 92-76

HUNTINGTON, PA- The Alfred University men's basketball team fell to Juniata College, 92-76, Wednesday evening in the ECAC Southwest championship tournament play-in game. This loss takes Alfred (18-9, 9-5 Empire 8) out of title contention and ends the 2013-14 season.
Freshman guard
Tyler Seelman (Lorton, VA/Hayfield Secondary) shot four for eight beyond the arc for 16 points in the first half. AU went on an 11-7 run, cutting an eight-point deficit (39-31) into a 50-46 halftime lead.
The Eagles reclaimed the lead (57-55) with 14:33 remaining in regulation and did not look back. Senior guard
Mike Hill (Whitesboro, NY/Utica Notre Dame) and freshman guard
Dylan Molloy (Clifton Park, NY/Shenedehowa) both added 10 and 15 points for the Saxons. Senior guard
Thomas Tsatsis (Neponsit, NY/Townsend Harris) shot six-of-eight from the free-throw line for eight points.
Senior forward
Steve Lothridge (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and senior center
Gerald Colas (Houston, TX/Cypress Ridge) pulled down six rebounds as well.
