Empire 8 track and field teams continued to impress as they took part in the ECAC Championships on Friday at Reggie Lewis Track in Boston, MA.

ITHACA
Ithaca's 4x200-meter relay team of senior Brennan Edmonds (Ithaca, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson), sophomore Aaron Matthias (Rye, N.Y./Rye), junior Kevin Davis (Camden, N.Y./Camden) and sophomore Jeff Hejna (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) secured a bronze-medal finish in the event. They clocked a season-best time of 1:29.92 on the day, inching close to the Bomber school record of 1:29.66.

Sophomore Sawyer Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) raced to a 15:23.37 finish in the 5K, just one spot out of scoring position.

Ithaca's DMR finished 15th in 10:40.23, sophomore De'Marquis Graves (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) placed 17th in the triple jump with a mark of 13.59 meters and junior Rashaad Barrett (Bohemia, N.Y./Connetquot) competed in the 60 dash preliminaries crossing the finish line in 7.11.

ST. JOHN FISHER
Devin Cornelius continued to set the pace in the heptathlon as the Deansboro native ended Friday's competition in first place after four events.  Cornelius earned a first place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.17 before tying for first in the high jump.  He also captured fourth place in the shot put.  The sophomore will look to capture his second heptathlon crown in as many weeks tomorrow when he competes in the remaining three events on the docket.

The men's 4x200 relay team of Will Sterriker, Trevor Wilkes, Justin Rodriguez and Joe D'Agostino raced their way into Fisher's record book, crossing the finish line in 1:32.20.

On the field side, Kyle Koehler finished 10th out of 27 competitors in the shot put with a distance of 14.62 meters.

UTICA
Frank Volino Jr. qualified for the finals in the 60 meter men hurdles with a time of 8.34, placing seventh out of the 26 racer field.  Senior Shane Ruffing clocked a time of 8.57 as he finished 17th.

Freshman jumper Rayshawn Scott recorded a leap of 13.51 meters in the triple jump as he took 18th out of 26 in the finals.  Moravian's Chris Joint soared 15.09 meters to take first place and 10 points.

Juniors Corey Zlatniski, Jaime McNamara, and Andrew Hoover along with sophomore Sam Anderson registered a respectable 10th place tally in the distance medley relay as the squad clocked a time of 10:34.97, missing the points by less than half a second.
