Cardinals Close Out Spring Break Trip With Two Wins
The St. John Fisher College softball team closed out its spring break trip in Fort Myers, Florida on a high note dropping Salem State University 13-8 in game one, following it up with an 8-0 blanking of Bridgewater State University.
Fisher moves to 8-2 on the season with the victories.

Jessica D'Angelo picked up two early RBI's in game one knocking a double to score
Meghan Burns and
Lauren Owens for an early 2-0 lead. The Vikings would however come right back in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-2 advantage.
That lead would not last long as the Cardinals added three more runs in the second inning, a lead they would not surrender the rest of the game.
Kate Disbrow drove in
Olivia Fusilli on an RBI single as the third batter in the inning. Burns kept things rolling scoring Disbrow with an RBI double and
Jennifer Knaak picked up an RBI of her own as the very next batter. Salem scored one in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to 5-4.
After a scoreless third inning each squad scored two runs to move to the score to 7-6.
Fisher increased its advantage to 9-6 in the fifth inning.
Christina Sakran and Disbrow scored off an error by the right fielder with
Lauren Owens at the plate.
The Cardinals put the game out of reach in the seventh inning, saving their biggest inning for last, as everyone batted in the inning. Burns, Disbrow, Knaak and Owens all scored in the inning to distance Fisher to a 13-6 advantage.
Salem State racked up three runs to close out the game but Fisher hung on for the 13-9 win.
Halie Schoff improved to 4-0 on the season, pitching the entire contest.
Disbrow finished the game 3-4, with an RBI.

The second game for Fisher was a much different story as
Lauren Wesolowski held the Bears to a one-hit performance.
Fisher was aided in the first by two fielding errors in the inning which allowed Burns to put the Cardinals up 1-0.
After scoring one more in the second Fisher doubled its score to 4-0 in the third inning with RBI's credited to Sakran and Fusilli.
D'Angelo helped give Fisher a 5-0 advantage one inning later as her double brought around Owens.
The score would remain 5-0 until the sixth inning when RBI singles from
Jessie Smyrski and Fusilli put Fisher up 7-0.
D'Angelo earned her second RBI of the game to bring home Burns for the final run of the game in the seventh inning.
The Cardinals are next slated to hit the diamond on March 24
th when they head to Medaille College for a 3 p.m. start time.
