Daemen edges Saxon men’s tennis team, 5-4

BUFFALO, NY – Host Daemen College defeated the Alfred University men's tennis team, 5-4, Sunday evening.

The teams split six singles matches. Alfred sophomore Connor Doud (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) won first singles, 6-4, 6-1; AU senior Stefan Nonnenmann (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) took fourth singles, 6-3, 6-1; and Saxon senior Eric Teller (Granville, NY/Granville), claimed fifth singles, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.

Daemen won two of three doubles matches to earn the match victory. Doud and Nonnenmann won first singles for Alfred, 8-5.

The Saxons (7-5) are in action next on Tuesday, April 1, at 4 p.m. at Houghton.
