RIT edges Nazareth, 5-4

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host RIT won four of six singles matches Tuesday on the way to a 5-4 women's tennis victory over Nazareth in a non-conference match at RIT's Gordon Field House.

Nazareth is 9-9 overall, while RIT improved to 1-3.

Senior Alison Tepas had a 12-match winning streak snapped in her first-single loss to RIT's Maite Vera Antelo 6-1, 6-0. Tepas had defeated Antelo in the semifinals of the New York State Tournament last fall.

Krista Pagan and Elizabeth Crane gained singles points for the Golden Flyers as each won in straight sets and fourth and fifth singles respectively.

In doubles action, Tepas teamed with Ami Petosa for a 9-8 win at #1 over RIT's tandem of Elizabeth McGrail and Sara Bjork. At third doubles, Nazareth's team of June Logigian and Jean McCarthy posted an 8-4 win.
