BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (April 12, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology golf team shot 327 as a team on Saturday in the NYU/Manhattanville College Invitational, to finish the day in twelfth place.
The two-day tournament is taking place at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J.
Freshman
Frank Szucs led the Ducks with a 78, which is his lowest score of the spring. Coming in second for Stevens was junior
Justin Niemeier who shot a 79. The score is the second lowest of the season for Niemeier who finished five strokes off his season-best 74 from the UC Fall Invitational in September.
Elsewhere, senior
Richie Szeliga and junior
Cameron Hill each shot an 84 and 86 respectively.
Williams College is the day-one leader after shooting a 294, while Middlebury College and University of Rochester finished second and third with scores of 302 and 305 respectively. Grant Raffel from Middlebury led all golfers with a 71.
