ALFRED
The Alfred University women's lacrosse team fell 19-4 to visiting Keuka College, Wednesday evening at Yunevich Stadium. This non-conference loss brings AU to 1-4 (0-1 Empire 8) on the season.  
                
Alfred trailed Keuka 14-2 at halftime, and was unable to cut the deficit in the second half.  
                
Senior attack Ashley White, senior defender Janelle Gallipeau, junior attack Kaitlyn Button and freshman attack Megan Wendt all scored a goal apiece for the Lady Saxons.
                
Wendt caused two turnovers and freshman defender Hayley Hammer scooped up a team-high three ground balls.
                
Junior goalie Taylor Tarajos minded net for AU, making seven saves.  
                


STEVENS
The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team fell in a 16-8 game at Rowan University Wednesday night. The loss ends a three-game winning streak for Stevens.
 
The Profs (6-2) came out strong, scoring two goals just 31 seconds in to take a 2-0 edge. The Stevens defense tightened up and pitched almost eight minutes of scoreless lacrosse before the hosts made it a 3-0 game at the 21:39 mark of the first half.
 
Sophomore Erika Wilcox (Baldwinsville, N.J.) put Stevens (5-6 overall, 3-0 Empire 8) on the board with an unassisted goal to make it 3-1, but Rowan answered 2:11 later to go up three with 17:57 remaining in the opening period.
 
Wilcox and senior attack Kara Rafferty (Bayshore, N.Y.) scored back-to-back goals to bring Stevens within one (4-3), but a pair from the Profs pushed the lead back to three goals (6-3) at 11:13 of the first half.
 
Rafferty assisted a score from junior attack Caitlyn Hughes (Randolph, N.J.) to make it a two-goal game, with Rowan scoring the next three for a five-goal cushion late in the first. Rafferty ended the run for the Profs with her second goal of the game, and the two teams traded tallies to close the first period scoring and go to intermission with the score showing 10-6 in favor of the home team.
 
Rowan opened the second period with two markers. Wilcox's third of the game made it 12-7, but the Profs went on to score the next three goals to seal the win.
 
Hughes' second of the contest accounted for the Ducks' eighth of the game as Rowan netted the last tally for the final.
 
Senior Lindsay Barrie (Marlton, N.J.) made seven saves to earn the win in goal for Rowan. Freshman Janelle Welkie (Hershey, Pa.) made nine saves in 55-plus minutes in the loss for the Ducks.
 
The Profs held a 25-15 edge in shots on goal and a 29-20 margin in shots. Rowan also won 19-of-26 draw controls and had an 18-16 edge in ground balls.
 
Leading the Ducks were Hughes, Rafferty and Wilcox who all finished with three points. Hughes had three shots and three scores, with Rafferty getting two markers, one assist and two draw controls. Wilcox had three goals and two draw controls. Freshman defender Betsy Crossland (Westfield, N.J.) registered a team-high two caused turnovers, while Crossland, junior defender Amanda Ingersoll (Baldwinsville, N.Y.), junior defender Courtney Lee (Brookeville, Md.) and freshman midfielder Caroline DeLuca (Sayville, N.Y.) all scooped up two ground balls.
 
Sophomore midfielder Brittany Bollendorf (Sewell, N.J.) led Rowan with eight goals and an assist, while sophomore Cat Luick (Tinton Falls, N.J.) had five points.
