STEVENS
The Stevens Institute of Techn
ology women's outdoor track & field team competed at The College of New Jersey Invitational on Saturday in a non-scoring meet in Ewing, N.J. The meet ended early due to inclement weather.

Junior Amira Dardir (Jersey City, N.J.) recorded the best finish for Stevens on the day, placing third overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.61 meters out of 19 competitors that cleared a height.

Senior Tiffany Evangelou (Fair View, N.J.) put together a solid afternoon with three top 10 individual placements and one relay event. Evangelou took eighth in the long jump and triple jump events with measurements of 5.17 and 10.79 meters, respectively. She then placed 10th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.58 seconds.

Evangelou teamed with sophomore Gladys Njoku (Cedar Grove, N.J.) and freshmen Melissa Gibbons (Oradell, N.J.) and Michelle Moreira (Coopersburg, Pa.) in the 4x100-meter relay to take eighth in a time of 51.69 seconds.

Freshman Victoria Taibe (Middle Village, N.Y.) posted a mark of 11.42 meters in the shot put to finish ninth in the event.


NAZARETH
Nazareth's women's track and field team was in action again on Saturday when the Golden Flyers traveled to the University of Rochester for the Spring Invitational. Several athletes turned in personal bests. Junior Michaela Gildemeyer's took first in the women's 400 event with a time of :59.65. Gildemeyer's time was a personal best over her previous best of 1:00.68, which she ran at the Washington & Lee meet in March.

Junior Sibongile Chisi edged her previous best of 3.12 meters in the pole vault with a mark of 3.13 meters (10 ft., 3 1/4 in.), which was also another school record for her. Freshman Elisa Marchione also took second in the 100 hurdles with a time of :16.73, and junior Hannah Brackley was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of :12.68. Junior Kate Durr was third in the high jump (1.45m; 4 ft., 9 in.), while sophomore Amanda Entress was fourth in the triple jump (10.18m; 33 ft. 4 3/4 in.) and long jump (4.99m; 16 ft., 4 1/2 in.).

Additionally, Sophomore Kenzi Coon was fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:12.73, and junior Kassandra Lathrop was ninth in the 5-kilometer run with a time of 22:13. In the 200-meter sprint, junior Allison Wean was 10th with a time of :28.95, followed by freshman Alex Walker in 15th with a time of :29.89.


ST. JOHN FISHER
The St. John Fisher College women's track and field team took part in the Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday hosted by the College at Brockport at Schriver Stadium.
 
The 4x100 meter relay team of Morgan MastinRonni EhlersNicoletta Lattuca and Chelsea Cleveland wrapped up a second place finish with a time of 53.50, which was just off the first-place pace.
 
Shannon Davis nearly set a new personal-best after taking part in the 3000 meter steeplechase.  The Cicero native finished in second place with a mark of 13:05.75.
 
Kaylee Zbytek placed seventh overall out of 28 competitors in the 1500 meter run with a closing mark of 5:03.47, while teammate Sammy Van Gee placed 13th with a time of 5:09.23.
 
Sarah Harrington set a new personal-best time in the 5000, finishing the event in ninth place overall, bettering her previous mark by nearly 45 seconds.
 
In the 400 meter dash, Kaitlin Rizzo claimed fifth place with a finishing time of 1:04.30, while Cleveland wrapped up an eighth place finish in the 100 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 13.57.
 
The Cardinals performed well in the 200 meter dash as well.  Cleveland earned a fifth place finish with a time of 28.76, while Rizzo was on her heels, placing 10th overall.  Lisa Knab claimed 11th place and Amber Kramer took home 13th place honors.
 
Melissa Vaughn nearly won the 100 meter hurdles, but missed the top spot by less than a quarter of a second.  The Orchard Park native finished second in the event with a mark of 16.24.  Kramer and Noelle Novakowski also took part in the event, finishing in seventh and eighth, respectively.
 
Paige Willson continued her dominance in the shot put.  Last week's Empire 8 champion in the event, Willson's throw measured 12.34 meters, which was good for second place. Joanna Vassiliou finished in 14th place and teammate Taylor Youngkrans placed one spot back in 15th.
 
Willson also rose to the occasion in the javelin, grabbing a second place finish after a throw of 28.17 meters.
 
Vassiliou would also place second overall in the hammer throw after an ECAC qualifying measurement of 45.83 meters.  Youngkrans also fared well in the event, finishing third overall with a mark of 44.52 meters.


UTICA
The Utica College track and field team traveled to SUNY Brockport on Saturday for the Golden Eagle Invitational. 
 
Freshman Sheila Ramos (Haverstaw, NY/North Rockland) finished sixth in the 100m dash with a sprint of 13.49, while Niasha Dennis (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) took sixth in the 200m with a final time of 28.82.  Jaimee Balloni (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W.Baker) also took sixth in the 1500m run (5:02.59).  In the 400m hurdles, Katherine Pearce (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) (1:16.77) took fourth.  The relay 4x100m relay team won its event with a time of 49.27 and the 4x400m took first with a finish of 4:08.78. 
 
Pearce also placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.50m , and Sarah Wiatr (Poland, NY/West Canada Valley) won the triple jump with a leap of 11.72m.  In the  shot put, Alexis Edwards (Ilion, NY/Ilion) finished third with a distance of 11.61m., while Sierra LaVeck (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) took fourth in the discus with a hurl of 31.91m. 


ALFRED
The Alfred University women's track and field team competed Saturday at Brockport. There were no team scores, but AU athletes turned in solid performances.
 
Senior Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) took second in the pole vault (3.42 meters). Her vault met ECAC qualifying standards.
 
Seniors Kari Blatz (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) and Jennifer Kirsch (Penfield, NY/Penfield) were 13th (9.62 meters) and 17th (9.19 meters), respectively, in the shot put. Kirsch and Blatz were ninth (29.20 meters) and 13th (25.94 meters), respectively in the discus.


HOUGHTON
Andrea Melhorn won two events and finished third in another to lead the Highlanders at the University of Rochester Invite on Saturday.

Melhorn finished first in the discus (37.34 meters) and hammer (43.18 meters) and third in the shot put (10.14 meters). 

Joanna Friesen continued to turn in strong performances in the 800 meters. The freshman won the event in 2:22.87.

Alyssa Figueroa also picked up a first place finish in the long jump (5.09 meters) and placed third in the triple jump (10.31 meters). 

Savannah Doviak came in second in the 400 meters (1:04.37).
