Utica Wraps up Season With a Win

Utica 7, Keuka 2 

The Utica College men's tennis team wrapped up its 2013-2014 campaign with a 7-2 victory over visiting non-conference rival Keuka College at the UC Tennis Courts. Five different Pioneers recorded victories in singles play.

Senior Daniel Fadden (Lakeland, NY/Bishop Ludden) won by mirror scores of 6-3 in the second hole while sophomore Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) shut out Keuka's No. 3, 6-0 and 6-0.

Ryan Valle (Winthrop, ME/Winthrop High School) (6-3, 6-4), Mike Slowikowski (6-1, 6-4) and Phil Pham (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) (6-3, 7-5) also posted convincing wins in singles.

Rogers and Valle teamed up in double competition for an 8-0 shutout while Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville ) and Fadden secured the team victory with an 8-6 edge in team-play.

Utica moved its season record to 3-10 as it concluded its season on a three-match home stand.  The Keuka Storm remains winless at 0-8.
