Before the action begins, here are some quick facts you should know about the conference tournament. (*Quick facts will be based on the current tournament format years 2004-2014).

The Empire 8 will employ a four team tournament format for the 11th straight year. Prior to the 2004 tournament, the E8 champion was determined based on the regular season finish.

All four teams that qualified for the 2011 and 2012 E8 Tournaments return again this season.

The tournament has played out according to seeding twice (2004 and 2005).

Ithaca will serve as the No. 1 seed for the fifth time.

The #1 seed is 8-2 in the semifinal game of the tournament. #2 seed (7-3), #3 seed (3-7), #4 seed (2-8).

The #1 seed has won the conference championship four times (2004, 2005, 2006, 2011).

The #2 seed has won the title four times (2007, 2010, 2012, 2013)

The #3 seed has never won the conference title.

The #4 seed has won the title twice (2008, 2009).

Ithaca has played in the championship game seven times and won on two occassions (2004 & 2008). The Bombers finished as the runner-up the last four years.

St. John Fisher is the two-time defending champion and looking for its fifth title in program history.

Nazareth last won the E8 championship since 2006.

Stevens has made the conference tournament each year since joining the Empire 8 in the 2007-08 season and won the championship in 2010 and 2011.
