ITHACA
The Ithaca College women's track & field team opened its 2014 outdoor schedule on Saturday at the Ramapo Invitational. The Bombers won the scored meet with 200 points, doubling the point total of the second-place team, and met 10 ECAC qualifiers.
 
Ithaca had two ECAC qualifiers in the 5,000-meter run. Junior Alexa Rick won the race in 18:11.87 and graduate student Carly Graham followed in third place in 18:31.81. Senior Allison Bartkowiak rounded out scoring in the event with an eighth-place finish of 19:15.33.
 
Junior Meghan Cass won the 10K with an ECAC-qualifying time of 39:57.94. Freshman Lauren Hodge followed in second, junior Anastasia Diamond in third and freshman Gaia Bouchard-Hall fifth with times of 41:19.93, 41:38.39 and 42.36.50, respectively.
 
Junior Emilia Scheemaker claimed the triple jump crown with a mark of 11.80 meters to meet the ECAC standard. Freshman Lexi Clavet placed fifth in the event with a distance of 10.05 meters.
 
Freshman Natalie Meyer soared over 1.63 meters in the high jump to win the event, match the meet record, and meet the ECAC qualifier.
 
The Bombers' 4x100 relay earned silver in an ECAC-qualifying time of 50.09.
 
Junior Harmony Graves raced to a second-place finish of 25.61 in the 200 dash, another ECAC qualifier. She also finished second in the 100 with a time of 12.69.
 
Senior Elaine Abdulky had a heave of 44.37 meters in the hammer to meet the ECAC standard and finish third. Junior Kristina Stockburger placed fourth with a toss of 41.56 meters and freshman Brandy Smith was sixth with a throw of 39.19 meters. Smith and Abdulky each hit the ECAC mark in the discus. Smith placed second with a finish of 40.37 meters and Abdulky was fourth with a distance of 36.78 meters.
 
Junior Christine Benway placed second in the long jump with a mark of 5.15 meters. Scheemaker followed with a third-place distance of 5.12 meters and Meyer was fourth with a leap of 4.90 meters. Benway also finished eighth in the 100 hurdle finals with a time of 16.44.
 
Ithaca had three finish in scoring position in the shot put and 400 hurdles. Smith was the runner-up in the shot put with an 11.57-meter throw. Junior Corrine Taylor was fourth with a mark of 11.26 meters and rookie Francesca Boylan placed eighth with a 10.56-meter toss. In the hurdles, freshman Julia Jones was third in 1:09.88, classmate Kristin Lynn eighth in 1:12.02 and junior Kassie Moore 10th in 1:13.13. Two unattached athletes finished in the top 10, but did not earn points toward a team score.
 
Two earned points for the Bombers in both 1,500 and the 3,000 steeplechase. Junior Hannah Wright and sophomore Anna Fay placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1,500 with times of 4:58.61 and 4:59.29. Sophomores Opal Jessica Bogdan and Trisha Ignatowski placed in the steeple. Bogdan was sixth in 12:25.69 and Ignatowski eighth with a time of 12:49.65.
 
Senior Shannon Meehan was the runner-up in the pole vault with a clear of 2.90 meters.
 
Ithaca's 4x400 relay ran second in 4:09.41 and its 4x800 team finished fourth in 10:14.94.
 

STEVENS
 The Stevens Institute of Technology women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Ramapo College Invitational on Saturday in Mahwah, N.J. The women finished seventh of 21 schools with 40 points.

Sophomore Amy Regan (Green Brook, N.J.) claimed top honors in the 1,500 with a school record time of 4:48.72.

The 4x800 relay squad of Regan, senior Kelly Freed (Rutherford, N.J.), freshman Kaela Earrusso (Sparta, N.J.) and sophomore Sarah Zahran (Southbury, Conn.) qualified for ECAC's with a time of 10:06.97 and finished third overall.

Sophomore Kate Moyer (Long Valley, N.J.) posted an ECAC-qualifying time of 18:38.27 in the 5,000-meter run, while senior Tiffany Evangelou (Fair Lawn, N.J.) took fifth overall in the long jump with a distance of 4.98 meters (16' 4.25").


ALFRED
Alfred University junior Miasia Hillman (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) won two sprint events, both in school-record times, Saturday at the Muhlenberg University Invitational outdoor track and field meet.

Hillman won the 100-meter dash (12.28 seconds) and 200-meter dash (25.56 seconds). Senior Jennifer Kirsch (Penfield, NY/Penfield) broke the AU school record in the discus with her sixth-place throw of 34.54 meters.

AU senior Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) tied for first in the pole vault (3.20 meters). Other top performers for the AU women were: senior Chelsea Hall(Grand Island, NY/Grand Island), eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.38 seconds); and junior Tracie Forrester (Gainesville, NY/Letchworth), eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:12.66).
