Weather was once again a factor to be dealt with as some snow and plenty of rain feel causing some schedule changes, but E8 athletes come through with flying colors on the days that were playable. Those who earned weekly honors include...

Baseball Player of the Week – St. John Fisher
Cody Wiktorski, Sophomore, Infield – Penfield, NY/Penfield
 
Cody Wiktorski went 6-for-10 (.600) with two doubles, a triple and a home run at the plate last week as the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team picked up three more wins last week to stretch its winning streak to 14 games. Wiktorski also chipped in with six RBI and scored five runs. Earlier in the week he went 3-for-4 and was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.
 
Baseball Pitcher of the Week – St. John Fisher
Marc Iseneker, Freshman – Sherrill, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill
 
Marc Iseneker picked up two wins last week as the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College baseball team picked up three more wins to stretch its winning streak to 14 games. Iseneker combined to throw 10 innings while scattering only two hits. He did not allow a run and struck out 11 batters in two appearances. Against Utica, the freshman hurler tossed 8.0 innings in a 3-0 win while striking out 10 pioneer hitters.
 
Softball Player of the Week – Utica
Alysa Russell, Sophomore, Infield – Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville
 
Alysa Russell recorded nine hits on 12 at bats (.750), 12 RBIs, and four home runs in four wins last week. In the first game of a double header to Union she went 3-4 with one home run and three RBIs. In the second game, a 12-7 win, she went 3-3 with two home runs and a double. She drove in seven runs in the game. In the two wins against SUNY IT she went 3-5 with two RBIs and one home run.
 
Softball Pitcher of the Week – Elmira
Alex Puglisi, Senior – Shelton, CT/The Hill Academy
 
Aside from homering twice and driving in five runs, Alex Puglisi also shined in the pitcher's circle. In game one, she tossed a complete game shutout, striking out six batters while allowing just three hits.
 
Men’s Lacrosse Player of the WeekAlfred
Brett Carroll, Senior – Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon-St. Jude

Brett Carroll had five goals, including the game-winner with 2:44 left in regulation, in a 12-11 win at Elmira. He also had five groundballs and caused three turnovers.
 
Men’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week??- St. John Fisher
Jamie Campagna, Senior – Liverpool. NY/Liverpool
 
Jamie Campagna picked up his fourth win of the season on Saturday as the St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team picked up a come-from-behind win over Stevens, 7-5. Campagna held Stevens well below its season scoring average. The Liverpool native surrendered only five goals in the contest and came up with 15 saves in the win. He also scooped up three ground balls.
 
Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week?- Utica College
Rebecca Plunkett, Freshman, Defense – Kings Park, NY/Kings Park
 
Rebecca Plunkett was all over the place for Utica in two games this weekend. She tallied seven goals, 11 ground balls, caused three turnovers, and secured 11 draw controls in the two games. In a 11-5 loss to St. John Fisher Saturday, she had two goals and four ground balls. The following day in a 12-7 win over Elmira, she exploded with five goals, seven ground balls, and seven draw controls.
 
Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week??- Hartwick
Steph Luce, Junior – Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs
 
Steph Luce stopped 15 shots against Nazareth for a save percentage of 60%. She made six saves in the opening half of play to help the Hawks to a one-goal deficit at the break. In the second half, she made nine saves, including four on free-position shots. She also tied a game-high six ground balls. 
 
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week – Ithaca
Griffin Reid, Senior – Bolton, CT/Bolton
 
Griffin Reid helped Ithaca to a perfect 3-0 week in Empire 8 dual matches and led the way near the top of the lineup. Reid won two matches at first singles against Utica and Hartwick and then won 6-4, 6-1 at second singles against St. John Fisher. He also teamed with Chris Hayes for a pair of wins at second doubles, with the duo claiming an 8-0 win over Hartwick and an 8-3 triumph at Fisher.
 
Men’s Golf Athlete – St. John Fisher
Joe Feeney, Senior – Webster, NY/McQuaid Jesuit
 
Joe Feeney of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's golf team currently sits in a tie for eighth place as the No. 5 Cardinals are taking part in the Hershey Cup. Feeney fired a first-round 75 (+4), which is only two strokes behind the tournament's leader.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete – Utica
Corey Zlatniski, Junior – Mattituck, NY/Mattituck
 
Junior Corey Zlatniski, of the Utica College men's track and field teams, shattered a school-record Sunday at the U of R Alumni Event. Zlatniski clocked a 4:06.22 in the 1,500 meter run placing eighth.
 
Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete – Nazareth
Luis Rivera, Sophomore – Rochester, NY/James Monroe
 
Luis Rivera shattered his own school record in the hammer throw Sunday with a second-place finish in that event at the UR Alumni Invitational. His throw of 155 feet, 9 inches broke his previous record (set last year) by more than 18 feet.
 
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete – Nazareth
Gabrielle LeBihan, Sophomore – Brant Lake, NY/Queensbury
 
Gabrielle LeBihan shattered the Nazareth school record with a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at Sunday's UR Alumni Invitational. LeBihan's time of 18:08.11 broke the previous record of 19:01.30 that was set in 2007.
 
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete – St. John Fisher
Paige Willson, Junior – East Concord, NY/Griffith Institute
 
Paige Willson won the shot put and shattered her own record in the process with a heave of 12.59 meters as the St. John Fisher College women's track and field team placed eighth out of 23 programs at the U of R Invite. Willson also captured a sixth place finish in the javelin.
