Ithaca Gets 8-1 Win At Nazareth
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team ran its winning streak to four matches and moved over the .500 mark with an 8-1 win at Nazareth on Tuesday afternoon. Ithaca won two of three doubles matches and swept the singles matches in the victory. Ithaca is now 6-5 overall and 4-1 in the Empire 8. Nazareth is 1-9 on the season and 1-2 in the Empire 8.
Ithaca started the match with wins at third doubles and second doubles. The third doubles team of
Joey Hanf and
Wes Davis picked up an 8-4 win and were followed by an 8-3 win at second doubles by
Chris Hayes and
Griffin Reid.
Five of the six singles matches were decided in straight sets.
Zach Passman came back from dropping the first set at first singles for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 win. Reid won at second, Davis at third, and Hayes at fourth.
Justin Levine was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at fifth singles and
Nate Wolf won 6-1, 6-0 at sixth singles.
Ithaca plays Sunday at The College of New Jersey.
