ITHACA
The Ithaca College men's track & field team tallied six ECAC qualifiers Saturday at the Oneonta May Meet.
 
Ithaca won two relays. With a season-best performance, junior Rashaad Barrett, sophomore Aaron Matthias and juniors Kevin Davis and Tyler Curtis raced to a 42.26 finish in the 4x100-meter relay.
 
Junior Matt Femia, sophomore Jordan Smith, junior Mason Mann and senior Brennan Edmonds won the 4x400 in 3:23.40. Edmonds also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 55.12.
 
The Bombers had two ECAC qualifiers in the high jump. Sophomore Andrew Brandt placed second and senior Brendan Wilkins fourth both with clears of 1.93 meters.
 
Sophomore De'Marquis Graves was the runner-up in the triple jump with a mark of 13.54 meters.


NAZARETH
Selected athletes from Nazareth's competed over the weekend at separate meets. Senior Jake Lafaver competed at Friday's Gator Invitational at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. Sophomores Khiary Gayle and Luis Rivera each competed Saturday at the University of Albany's Purple and Gold Last Chance Meet.

Lafaver was ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.70.

At Albany, Rivera was fourth in the hammer throw with a heave of 162 feet, 4 inches. Gayle was seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 3 1/2 inches.


ST. JOHN FISHER
The St. John Fisher College men's track and field team took part in the ninth annual Gator Invitational on Friday at Alleghany College in Meadville, PA.
 
Chris Wehner finished fifth overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.05, while teammate Will Sterriker finished on his heels in sixth place with a time of 16.27.
 
The 4x100 relay team of Joe D'Agostino, James Koch, Sterriker and Wehner had a fine showing as well, placing seventh with a time of 45.68.
 
James McDowell wrapped up a 15th place finish in the 400 with a time of 51.89, while Robert Battaglia placed 30th in the 800 after finishing the event in 2:05.02.
 
In the field, Eric Riley picked up where he left off last weekend, finishing in third place in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters.  The Wampsville native also took home a fourth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.65 meters.  Zach Hemminger finished third in the triple jump after a measurement of 11.85 meters.


STEVENS
The Stevens Institute of Technology outdoor track & field teams competed at the SUNY Oneonta May Meet on Saturday in its final event before the ECAC Outdoor Championships begin on May 15 in Troy, N.Y.

On the men's side, the 4x800-meter relay team established a new program record – indoor and outdoor – with a time of 7:55.00 and qualified for ECAC's. That time was also good to set a new meet record at Oneonta. Senior Louis Stengel (Vernon, N.J.), junior Matthew Bombarb (Wayne, N.J.) and freshmen Drew Knipfer (St. Joseph, Ill.) andNicholas Zickgraf (Kenilworth, N.J.) made up the team that placed second overall.

The 4x400-meter relay of junior Andrew Parlette (Clarksville, Md.), sophomore Tom Halloran (Oakland, N.J.) and freshmen Michael Guglielmo (West Nyack, N.J.) and Tyler Reed (Hamilton, N.J.) also finished second with a time of 3:38.76.

Another relay, the 4x100-meters came in third overall in a time of 43.88 seconds. That foursome consisted of Halloran, senior Walter Goodwin (Floral Park, N.Y.), junior Robert Pinto (Staten Island, N.Y.) and freshman Brian Fratto (Winchester, Mass.).

Pinto also placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters (6 feet, 4 inches). Two others, senior Michael Cahill (Clark, N.J.) and sophomore Moe Shokry (Fairview, N.J.) were third place performers as well in the 5,000-meter run and 110-meter hurdles. Cahill clocked a time of 15:48.69 in the 5K, while Shokry ran 16.84 seconds in the 110 hurdles.

Halloran took fourth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 52.10 seconds, while freshman Chris Volz (Caldwell, N.J.) also placed fourth with a time of 18.06 seconds in the 110 hurdles. Junior Kevin Barresi (Little Silver, N.J.) put together a fourth place showing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 10:34.62. Freshman Neil Forrester (Ramsey, N.J.) recorded a distance of 11.83 meters (38' 9.75") to come in fourth as well.

Guglielmo posted a time of 10:49.97 in the steeplechase to finish fifth, while senior Joel Oquendo (North Bergen, N.J.) posted two fifth place showings. Oquendo measured out 11.40 meters (37' 5") in the shot put and 37.65 meters (123' 6") in the discus. Fellow senior Benny Scotto (Washington, N.J.) threw the javelin 40.32 meters (132' 3") as another fifth place performer.

Volz finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.81 and freshman Cody Yersin (Colts Neck, N.J.) also came in sixth in the shot put at 11.19 meters (36' 8.5").

UTICA
The Utica College men competed at the UAlbany Last Chance Meet Saturday.

Rayshawn Scott finished second in the high jump with a soar of 1.97 and also placed third in the triple jump leaping 14.12 meters. He ranks 25th nationally in the high jump while 23rd in the triple. Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) placed third in the 110 with a time of 15.12 meters.
