The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's golf team battled more than the course on Thursday as the No. 8 Cardinals had to deal with persistent rain all afternoon at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship in Greensboro, N.C.

The rains moved in shortly after Fisher had begun its third round, resulting in a nearly four hour rain delay before play would resume.  The rain, however, continued to intensify leading officials to suspend play until Friday morning.

Fisher will complete its round beginning at 7:30 a.m. before wrapping up the national tournament with the final 18 holes of play immediately thereafter.

The Cardinals currently sit in fourth-place overall with a team score of +22.  The Fisher quintet is just two strokes out of third-place, while first-place Schreiner holds a 10-stroke lead over the Cardinals.

Junior Chris Blyth was -1 through 11 holes when play was suspended, while Hogan Cuny had birdied back-to-back holes to move to two over through 10.  Joe Feeney was also having a strong round as the Webster native notched six-straight pars to post a +2 through 13 holes of play.
