HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Ithaca College women's golf junior Sharon Li added to her impressive list of career achievements by being named Division III Player of the Year for the 2013-14 season by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. Li also earned First Team All-American honors and was honored on the Region 1/East Region all-region team by the WGCA.

It was the second year in a row that Li was named to the WGCA All-America First Team, and it's the first national player of the year honor for an Ithaca golfer in the program's five-year history. That adds to the historic season that continues this week with Ithaca competing as a team at the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. The WGCA banquet was a part of the events of the championship week, and Ithaca stood fifth among 21 teams at the conclusion of the second round.

Li earned four Empire 8 Player of the Week honors during the fall season and was Empire 8 Player of the Year for the second year in a row. In the 2013-14 season, Li has won five individual tournament titles and finished in a first-place tie at another tournament before falling in a sudden-death playoff. Her season scoring average entering the national tournament stood at 75.22, with a career-best and school-record low round of 68 in Ithaca's regular-season finale at the Northeast Elite Invitational.

As a sophomore, Li earned All-American honors from the WGCA and placed tied for 10th at the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. She was Empire 8 Player of the Week four times. She is a three-time recipient of Empire 8 First Team honors.
