ABCA Tabs Flemister Third Team All-American
St. John Fisher senior Nick Flemister has earned another postseason honor. This time he was named an All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) after helping guide the St. John Fisher College baseball team to a 31-win season and a second ECAC Metro Championship in as many seasons.
The selection caps a busy postseason for Flemister who had already been named Player of the Year by d3baseball.com, the ABCA/Rawlings New York Region, and the Empire 8. The senior catcher has been named ABCA Third-Team All-American ranking sixth nationally with 21 doubles on the year, which set a new Fisher single-season record. The Pittsford native compiled the second-highest batting average in the Empire 8 at .408. Flemister's 64 hits this season were tops in the conference moving him to fourth all-time on the single-season list at Fisher, while his 33 RBI this season ranked second on the team and among the best in the conference.
A d3baseball.com National Player of the Week honoree, Flemister clubbed 12 consecutive base hits in 12-straight at bats, just missing the all-time NCAA Division III record. The Business management major, who carries a 3.57 grade point average, was also named to the Baseball Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for his outstanding work in the classroom.
