Nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College (15-4) will play at nationally-ranked York College (14-4) on Saturday in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.  The game time will be announced Monday.

Fisher, ranked 15th in the latest national coaches poll, is playing in NCAAs for the third straight year and the fifth time in the last eight years.  The Cardinals earned an automatic bid into NCAAs after posting a 6-3 win at top-seeded Ithaca College on Sunday, marking the program's third straight Empire 8 Conference Championship title.

York received an at-large bid into NCAAs for the third straight year.  The Spartans, ranked 13th nationally, lost to Salisbury University in the Capital Athletic Conference title game, marking their second loss of the season to the Sea Gulls.

Fisher and York both have one common opponent – Ithaca College. York defeated the Bombers 14-12 back on March 8th.  Fisher lost 9-7 at Ithaca back in March 22nd,  but defeated the Bombers on Sunday to even the series.

After suffering a 15-12 loss on April 17th to SUNY Cortland, the nation's No. 1 ranked team, Fisher has rattled off six straight wins, outscoring its opponents, 82-23 during that span.

Fisher has won 15 games for the third straight year, tying the College-record for wins in a season.  The Cardinals enter NCAA competition, allowing 6.69 goals per game, good for 10th nationally in scoring defense.  Senior defenders Marykate Edmunds, Logan Barnard, Tori Suto and Jill Zerrillo have been outstanding this season, while goalie Nicole Hart, who was named as the Empire 8 Championship's MVP, has tallied double-digit saves in her last two games.

Offensively, Fisher will look to senior Taylor Hughes, who has over 200 goals and 300 points in her four-year career.  Samantha Barton (40 goals, 12 assists) and Sierra Badger (36 goals, 12 assists) have been key contributors on the offensive end, while freshman Jordan Johnson (17 goals, 30 assists) and Erin Ward (21 goals, 21 assists) at two of the Conference's top table-setters.

Fisher is led by head coach Linda Michele, now in her third season at Fisher.  She has led her teams to NCAAs each of the last five years, take College of Brockport to NCAAs in both 2010 and 2011.
