HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 5, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team will play the University of Southern Maine (14-3) on May 9 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with the winner to play Amherst College on May 10.
The Ducks (13-11) clinched an automatic bid on Sunday with their Empire 8 Conference Championship win over Ithaca College, and the appearance will be their fifth in-a-row.
Stevens has reached the second round of the tournament in each of its last five appearances, and made history last year by reaching the regional final for the first time in school history. Stevens cruised through the conference portion of its schedule with an undefeated record while playing a grueling out-of-conference schedule that featured eight opponents ranked in the top-30 nationally.
