Cardinals Can't Capitalize Vs. Brockport

The St. John Fisher College baseball program gave up just five hits on the day, but come out on the short end of the stick, as the Cardinals dropped a 3-1 decision at College at Brockport on Tuesday.
Fisher stranded 11 runners on base and was a combined 1-for-12 on the day with runners in scoring position.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 27-11 overall, while Brockport improves to 25-14.
Trailing 3-0 in the top of the seventh, Fisher scored its lone run as
Malcolm Kelsey walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and scored on a single from catcher
Tim Coykendall. The Cardinals would go on to load the bases that inning with just one out, but couldn't capitalize on the golden opportunity.
Mike Rynerson suffered the loss for Fisher, allowing three runs on just four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings.
Kevin Berge gave up one hit over 2.2 scoreless innings.
Coykendall and
Brad Rush both finished with two hits for Fisher.
The Cardinals return to action at 2 p.m. on Thursday with a doubleheader on Utica College. On Friday, Fisher will play at Manhattanville College in the semifinals of the ECAC Upstate/Metro Championship.
