Senior Justin D'Amato made more history on Thursday, as the St. John Fisher College baseball program moved to 29-11 on the year with two wins at Utica College.
D'Amato pitched seven shutout-innings in Fisher's 8-0 win over the Pioneers in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader.   The win raised D'Amato's record to 36-5 for his four-year career, moving him into ninth place all-time in NCAA Division III career wins.  He also struck out 10 batters in the win, bringing his career total to 329 and passing Major League Baseball great Billy Wagner and move the lefty into 19th place in Division III history.

The Cardinals will return to action at 3 p.m. on Friday at Manhattanville College in the semifinals of the ECAC Upstate/Metro Championship.

Game One:   Fisher 8, Utica 0
D'Amato was masterful in his final regular-season game in a Fisher uniform, allowing just four hits and two walks, while striking out 10.   The win raises his record to 9-1 on the year and lowered his ERA to 1.69 for the year and 2.11 for his career.  The victory also marked his seventh complete-game shutout.
Fisher scored at least one run in every inning but the third.  Cody Wiktorski and Brad Rush each finished with two hits, with Wiktorski doubling and tripling in the win.
Mike Roman and Cam Allen each drove in two runs.

Game Two: Fisher 6, Utica 3
Fisher led 3-0 going into the bottom of the eighth inning, but Utica answered with three runs and tied in game up at 3s going into the final frame.  The Cardinals, however answered with three runs in the ninth and closer Ryan Smith retired the final four batters to earn his second win in as many appearances.

Starting pitcher Sean Badger allowed four hits over six scoreless innings. Brad Rush and Joe Simmons each finished with three hits, while Chris Roeder scored two runs and delivered an RBI-double in the ninth.

Mike Fahy tallied two hits and two RBI, while Nick Flemister also added two hits.  Calvin Woolhiser went 1-for-2 and delivered the game-winning RBI on a sacrifice fly.
