Fisher Tops Morrisville 1-0

The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team held on to a 1-0 advantage for nearly 87 minutes Sunday to earn their first win of the season over Morrisville State in the Flower City Classic, held at the University of Rochester.
With the win Fisher improves to 1-1 on the season, while Morrisville moves to 1-1. The Mustangs topped No. 13 ranked University of Rochester, 3-2, in overtime on Friday.
Chris Ferrara scored the games only goal on the first shot of the contest at the 3:20 mark of the first half. Ferrara took a pass from
Danny Yancone and chipped it past the goalkeeper in the lower left corner to give Fisher the 1-0 advantage, which proved to hold up for the rest of the game.
Morrisville had a chance to equalize in the 87th minute off a header shot, however
Josh Klein was up for the task to keep the blank slate.
Klein made five saves in net for Fisher, earning his first collegiate shutout.
Morrisville finished with a 13-8 shot advantage in the game.
The Cardinals returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday when they will travel to the College at Brockport for non-conference action.
