STEVENS 2, TCNJ 0
Behind goals from juniors Harrison Kane and Carson Pryor, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team shutout the College of New Jersey 2-0 Wednesday night in Hoboken.

Stevens applied the pressure early on with shots on goal from sophomore Patrick Masur and Pryor in the first 10 minutes. Pryor's was an uncontested opportunity from the middle of the box, but sophomore Jake Nesteruk made a diving stop to keep the game scoreless.

TCNJ returned fire with shots in the 26th and 27th minutes, but both went wide before the Ducks broke through in the 38th minute.

After junior Harrison Kane was taken down on an across the box pass, the middle-back was awarded a penalty shot. Kane took advantage, blasting a shot to the left side of the net to give Stevens a 1-0 lead they would take into the half.

The goal was Kane's first of the season.

The Ducks came out of the break and controlled the ball early before adding to the lead in the 55th minute. Pryor controlled a pass at midfield, passed 10 yards back to sophomore Jay Mikula who floated a pass back to the sprinting Pryor. One-on-one with the goalie, Pryor lifted a shot over Nesteruk's head for his second goal of the season. The assist was Mikula's first of 2014.

The lead was enough for the Ducks as they played lock-down defense the rest of the way to secure the 2-0 win. Stevens outshot TCNJ 16-5 and tallied three more corner kicks. Sophomore Mike Renna made two saves to clinch his first career shutout.

Hilbert 2, ALFRED 1
The AU Saxons men's soccer (3-2-0, Empire 8 0-0) team was beaten by the Hilbert Hawks 2-1 to give them their first loss since the season opener.

The Saxons fell behind Hilbert 1-0 in the 25th minute when Jonathan Davison headed a loose ball past junior Matthew Unick.  The first half would end 1-0 with the Hawks in the lead.

It was the Hawks again to open the second half with a goal merely six minutes in when Austin Mathis blasted a left footed shot to the back of the goal.  Just over seven minutes later the Saxons attempted to mount a comeback when Kyle Craver  sent the ball across the middle of the goalmouth to find senior forward Jeff Thomas who bounced the ball to find nylon to set the game 2-1.

It was the Saxons in the 72nd minute on a penalty kick to attempt to deadlock the game at two, but the shot was denied by Hawks' keeper Brandon Henry.  Henry ended the night with 10 saves.  The Saxons continued to rattle off shots the rest of the game to no avail as the whistle sounded and the game ended 2-1.

Unick finished the game with four saves throughout 90 minutes.
