Seven ECAC Athletes of the Week

Seven Empire 8 Athletic Conference student-athletes have been honored as the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Northwest, Upstate and Metro Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Sept. 1-7, 2015.

Football - Northwest 

Tanner Williams, Hartwick - Offensive Player of the Week
Junior, Wide Receiver - Eagle Bride, N.Y.

Williams had career-highs of 13 receptions, 255 yards receiving, and three touchdown catches in Hartwick's come-from-behind 43-38 win over Western Connecticut State on Sunday.

Rowan Pinkett, Frostburg State - Defensive Player of the Week
Junior, LB - Forestville, Md.

Pinkett was a vital part of Frostburg's 24-19 opening day victory over Geneva. The junior linebacker recorded 12 tackles, including seven solo stops, recovered a fumble, forced a fumble and added a tackle for loss.

Marc Montana, Buffalo State - Special Teams Player of the Week
Junior, K -  East Amherst, N.Y.

Marc Montana drilled a school record 49-yard field goal as time expired in regulation to force overtime and then added a 34-yard field goal to defeat SUNY Cortland 51-48 in overtime. He added a 35-yard field goal earlier in the game to go 3-for-4 and was also 6-of-6 on extra point attempts

Women's Soccer - UpState
Mariana Crevison- Alfred University - Offensive Player of the Week
Sophomore, Forward – Scottsville, NY

Mariana Crevison scored three goals on three shots in the Saxons’ 7-1 win over Canton.  She scored her first goal in the first minute of the game for the early 1-0 lead. Her second goal came in the 34th minute on a header and she completed the hat trick in the 86th minute.

Lindsey Mahnken- Stevens Institute of Technology  - Rookie of the Week
Freshman, Goalkeeper, Bayville, NJ

Mahnken was named Defensive Most Valuable Player at the Stevens Engineering Cup after posting a pair of shutouts over the weekend. Stevens won its eighth Engineering Cup and Mahnken stopped a total of 12 shots in the two contests.

Women's Volleyball - Metro/UpState
Maria Allocco – Nazareth College - Player of the Week
Senior, MB, Burnt Hills, N.Y.

Alloco earns ECAC honors after leading her team to a 4-0 mark on the week. She recorded 37 kills on 64 swings for a .484 hitting percentage. The senior also had 12 service aces, including six in a three-set sweep of RIT. 

Anna Marcy – St. John Fisher College - Rookie of the Week
Freshman, OPP/S, Rochester, N.Y.

Marcy notched a team-high 48 kills and 30 digs in Fisher’s 3-1 week. Wednesday she had four aces against D’Youville before registering 45 kills and 27 digs over the weekend at the U of R Tournament.
