Ithaca Falls At Cortland, 2-0
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team (0-3-1) dropped a 2-0 decision to Cortland Sunday evening, falling to the Red Dragons at Jets Stadium.
Sophomore
Cobi Byrne led the team with three total shots, while three other Bombers (
Brandon Glass,
Alex Leone and
Sam Boylan) each recorded a shot on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Jordan Gentile was credited with the loss after making seven saves on nine Cortland shots.
The Red Dragons were able to get on the board early, as Cortland scored in the opening minute on a header off a throw in. Cortland added a second tally on a penalty kick at 37:24, giving the Red Dragons a 2-0 lead at the break.
Gentile had a strong second half, making four saves in the final frame to keep Ithaca close. However, the Bombers were unable to beat the Cortland goalkeeper in the final 45 minutes, giving the Red Dragons a 2-0 victory.
