Royals Down Monarchs, Defenders Behind 2-Over-Par 73 From Brown

Ryan Brown(Scranton, Pa./Scranton Preparatory)carded a two-over-par 73 to help The University of Scranton men’s golf team avenge a previous loss to King’s College, 311-323, and down Baptist Bible College, 311-493, Tuesday afternoon at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
The Royals, now 7-2, also received a 77 from senior
Erik Meyer (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights), a 79 from freshman
Warren Rozelle (Clarks Green, Pa./Scranton Preparatory), an 82 from freshman
Michael Boland (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer), and an 83 from senior
Josh Jimenez (Apalachin, NY/Seton Catholic Central).
Billy Dmbroski led the Monarchs with a 78 and Ryan Georgetti and Tony Morrash each carded a round of 82. Spencer Fountain led the Defenders with a 99.
Brown’s 73 was his third sub-75 round of the season and only two strokes off of tying his career best.
The Royals will compete in the first two rounds of the 72-hole Empire 8 Conference men’s golf championships this Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, at Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, New York.
