HOUGHTON 1, Medaille 0
Freshman Jordan Mullen scored his first career goal to send the Highlanders to a 1-0 win over previously undefeated Medaille College on Tuesday.

Medaille came into the contest with a 7-0 record and controlled much of the game. They held a 9-2 shots advantage and 5-0 edge in corners after the first 45 minutes.

The Mavericks continued to press and outshot Houghton 5-1 over the first 25 minutes of the second half, but Mullen's goal off an assist from Landon Sheaffer seemed to turn the tide. The Highlanders closed the game with a 3-1 edge in shots over the final 15 minutes.

Final stats had the shots in favor of the Mavs, 15-7.

Houghton keeper Jacob Dunnett made eight stops in net.

Fredonia 3, NAZARETH 2
Visiting Fredonia scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half Tuesday as the Blue Devils erased a two-goal deficit on their way to a 3-2 men's soccer victory over Nazareth in a non-conference game at Golden Flyer Stadium.

Nazareth slipped to 2-3 with its second straight loss. The Golden Flyers open the Empire 8 Conference portion of their schedule Saturday when they host Stevens at 1 p.m. Fredonia won its third straight game to improve to 5-1 overall.

The Golden Flyers looked to be in control early following first-half goals by Ryan Foley and Lucas Bennett. Foley's goal was his third of the season and 24th of his career and came in the game's third minute. He accepted a long cross-field pass from senior James Wheeler and delivered a shot past Blue Devils keeper Sammy Torrelli.

Bennett's goal also was his third of the season and came in the 21st minute. He burst up the right wing after receiving a pass from Ramez Al-Hebshi and fired a shot through the finger tips of Torrelli for a seemingly safe 2-0 Nazareth lead.

The first 10 minutes of the second half belonged to Fredonia as the Blue Devils rallied. Ryan Ross scored on a diving header off an assist from Dan Griffin less than three minutes into the second half. Then Patrick Schuber scored twice in a span of three minutes to complete the comeback. The first goal came off an assist from Mike Biggane, the second after a scramble in front of Nazareth keeper Diego Abreu, who finished with six saves. Torrelli made saves for the Blue Devils.

Fredonia had slim advantages in shots (16-13) and corner kicks (5-3). Fredonia's victory snapped a three-game losing streak against the Golden Flyers in men's soccer. Fredonia is 18-7-4 overall against Nazareth.

RIT 1, ELMIRA 0
The Elmira College men's soccer team fought until the final horn sounded, but their efforts came up just short as the Soaring Eagles fell to visiting RIT, 1-0. Jordan Dougherty '16, in his second start of the season, made eight saves for the Purple and Gold.

EC, coming off its three-goal performance against Hilbert College on Saturday, began the contest with plenty of intensity on both ends of the field. Elmira's Donte Donegal'18, who scored all three goals against the Hawks, had two quality runs towards the Tigers' net early in the first half, but was unable to capitalize on either one as the game remained scoreless. Austin Mansell'16 also had a great opportunity to net the game's first goal, but his header missed wide right.

RIT began to turn up the offensive pressure, outshooting EC 8-3 in the first half. The Tigers got on the board in the 39th minute with a goal from Dan Tomaszewski. An Elmira defender made a quality one-on-one play to dispossess the RIT player coming down the wing, but unfortunately for EC, the ball rolled towards the middle of the 18-yard box. Tomaszewski came crashing into the box and fired a shot into the lower left corner of the net, putting RIT up 1-0.

The Soaring Eagles did everything they could to score the equalizer in the second half, but the chances they had did not find the back of the net. Newcomer Jake Foti '18 had a good look at the goal from just outside the 18-yard box, but his left-footed shot was saved by a diving Mark Reeves. The final seconds ticked off the clock, sealing EC's 1-0 defeat.
