Four ECAC Athletes of the Week
Four Empire 8 Athletic Conference student-athletes have been honored as the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Northwest, Upstate and Metro Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Sept. 8-14, 2015.
Volleyball Metro/Upstate - Player of the Week
Madi Wickens – Nazareth College
So., S, Rochester, N.Y.
Wickens led Nazareth to victories in all four of its matches this week. The sophomore setter totaled 142 assists, averaging 10.2 per set. In a three-set sweep of Skidmore, she compiled 20 assists and three aces and then added 55 assists, one ace and nine digs in a four-set win over Cortland.

Offensive Player of the Week
Tyler Johnson, Alfred University, Sophomore, QB, East Syracuse, N.Y.
Johnson ran for 166 yards on 26 carries and threw for 203 yards (13-of-25) and two touchdowns in the Saxons' 34-31 comeback victory at RPI. His second scoring toss, an 82-yarder to Brendan Buisch 1:45 into the fourth, proved to be the winning points as the Saxons rallied from a 10-point third-quarter deficit.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Tyler Perna, The College at Brockport, Sophomore, K, West Seneca, N.Y.
Perna drilled a 19-yard field goal with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to lift The College at Brockport to a 17-14 victory over Cortland. He then made a game-saving tackle on the ensuing kickoff.
Rookie of the Week
Nate Wilkinson, The College at Brockport, Freshman, WR, Elma, N.Y.
Wilkinson scored both touchdowns for Brockport in a 17-14 win at Cortland and finished with 10 catches for 113 yards.
