Ithaca Stands 3rd; Lachell tied for 4th place at William Smith

The Ithaca College women's golf team stands third after the opening round of the Mount Holyoke Invitational, being held at The Orchards. The leaderboard is tightly packed at the top in this highly competitive tournament. Ithaca opened with a score of 326, and is four strokes behind first-round leaders Williams (322). Middlebury is second with a 324, and New York University is in fourth (331), five strokes behind Ithaca. Amherst stands fifth with a first-round total of 341. Ithaca placed second at this tournament last year.
Among the Ithaca individual players,
Sharon Li is in third place after the opening round with a score of 77. She is one stroke behind the co-leaders heading into Sunday's round.
Kimberley Wong is tied for ninth with a score of 81, and
Taylor Reeves posted 83 to stand in a tie for 18th. Ithaca's fourth score was an 85 by
Kelsey Baker.
Kyra Denish finished with an 89 to round out the Ithaca lineup.
Nazareth senior
Jennifer Lachell fired a score of 92 Saturday at Clifton Springs Country Club and is in a tie for fourth place individually following the first round of the William Smith Invitational. Lachell is seven shots behind first-round leader Indiana Jones of Ithaca, who shot 85.
Sophomore
Grace Cardamone also competed for the Golden Flyers and shot 124. The second round takes place Sunday. St. Lawrence is the first-round leader in the team standings with a score of 371.
