AFCA and D3 Polls Feature E8 Teams
The St. John Fisher College and Ithaca College football teams are ranked in both prominent national polls following its 2-0 start to the season. Fisher moved up to No. 7 in the
D3football.com poll and debuts at No. 7 in the
American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll.
Ithaca moved up two spaces to 17th in the D3football.com poll and is ranked 15th in the AFCA poll.
Fisher defeated The College at Brockport, 36-20, on Saturday and is now a perfect 10-for-10 in Courage Bowl contests.
Ithaca turned in one of its best offensive performances of its recent history, by surpassing 500 yards in a game for the first time since 2008 in Saturday's 42-7 win over Hartwick.
Alfred University (3-0) is among teams also receiving votes in both polls. The Saxons are coming off a 29-21 victory over Buffalo State as they scored 23 unanswered points in the second and third quarters and held a potent Bengals offense to 288 yards, nearly half its average output.
Salisbury University (1-1) was idle this past week but still received votes in the AFCA poll.
