Stevens Advances Three In Singles, Two Doubles Teams At ITAs

GENEVA, N.Y. (September 20, 2014) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team advanced three singles players and two doubles teams to the quarterfinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional.
The three day tournament is being played at Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y.
Armed with the No. 1 seed, junior
Matthew Heinrich opened his weekend with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the first round before a 6-3, 6-1 in round two. Freshman
Danny Polk pulled off a pair of 6-1, 6-3 wins to advance him to the semifinals, while junior
Ben Foran won 6-2, 6-1, in the first round and 6-0, 6-1 in round two.
In doubles, the top seeded Foran and Heinrich took home 8-1 and 8-3 wins while Folk and sophomore
Michael Feldman won 8-3 and 8-2.
