Nazareth Races at Roberts; Hartwick Competes at Williams
NAZARETH Results
Several members of the men's cross country team were in action Saturday at the Harry Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan. Freshman
Kevin Witt was Nazareth's top finisher in the men's 8-kilometer race as he placed 42nd overall with a time of 27:32. In the women's 5-kilometer race.
Nazareth's men's team was 17th overall with a combined score of 504 points. Cortland took first with a total score of 40 points, followed by Cornell with 42 points, and Roberts Wesleyan with 71 points.
Sophomore
Matt Battaglia was the second Golden Flyer to finish the men's race as he took 105th-place with a time of 29:21. Junior
Patrick Neureuter was 133rd with a time of 29:58, and sophomore
Ethan Osborne was 157th with a time of 31:05. Classmate
Thomas Lannon finished moments after Osborne with a time of 31:11, which placed him 161st. Freshman Kris Newell rounded out the Nazareth racers in 191st-place with a time of 32:43.
Nazareth is in action again October 4th when the Golden Flyers travel to the Geneseo Invitational.
HARTWICK Results
'Wick's competed at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic in Williamstown, MA at Mt. Greylock High School on Saturday.
In the men's 8K, twenty-six teams from around the northeast competed. The Hawks would top teams from Endicott, Cobleskill, Springfield, St. Joseph's (ME), and New England College.
Matt Loignon and
Chris Shaw each broke 29 minutes in the race. Loignon finished in a time of 28:29.9. He was 99
th in a field of over 230 runners. Shaw covered the course in 28:58.0.
Colby (18th nationally) took top team honors. They were followed by Williams (6
th) in second and MIT (8
th) in third.
Hartwick cross country next competes in two weeks. The Hawks compete at the Hamilton College Invitational on October 11.
