Fisher and Ithaca Ranked Top-15 In National Polls
The St. John Fisher College and Ithaca College football teams are ranked in the top-15 of both prominent national polls.
In the Sept. 29 edition of the American Football Coaches Association Division III Poll, Fisher moved up one spot to No. 6 and Ithaca stands 13th, a two-spot improvement over the first poll of the season.
In the Sept. 28 D3football.com rankings, Fisher remains at No. 7 and Ithaca is ranked 15th, another two-spot improvement from the previous poll for the Bombers.
Fisher scored 21 points in the first quarter, cruising to a 48-7 over host Frostburg State University on Saturday, while Ithaca won 17-6 at Alfred. The Cardinals and Bombers each improved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Empire 8.
Fisher returns to action Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. when it will host Salisbury University for Alumni Weekend.
Ithaca returns to Butterfield Stadium this Saturday for a 1 p.m. home game against Utica.
