Moravian Takes 6th; Susquehanna Places 10th

The Moravian College golf team finished sixth of 22 teams at the Muhlenberg College Invitational played at the Lehigh Country Club Monday. Susquehanna earned a 10th place finish.
The Greyhounds had a four-man team score of 310 in the tournament, trailing first place Messiah College by 13 strokes. SU shot a 318 (+38).
Freshman Kevin Kunkle led Moravian with a four-over-par round of 74 to finish in a tie for seventh place among the 113 golfers on the par 70 course in the tournament. Sophomore Aaron Brown fired a season-low round of 78 for the Greyhounds to tie for 25th while juniors Jim Maru and Evan Dickinson each had rounds of 79 as pair of a tie for 33rd place. Freshman Tyler Smith rounded out the Hounds line-up with an 81 Monday afternoon that tied him for 48th place.
The Crusaders' top three performers finished within one stroke of each other. Matthew Schaffner shot a 78 (+8) to tie for 25th and one stroke behind him were Dylann Gladd and William McCafferty, who both shot a 79 to tie for 33rd in the 114-golfer field.
Daniel Wilson shot an 82 (+12) and Steven Jumper was just six strokes behind (88, +18).
