ELMIRA - Team & Individual Results
Competing in their first meet in program history, the Elmira College women's cross country team brought home a third place finish at the Alfred State Invitational. The Soaring Eagles finished with 57 team points, 24 points better than fourth place Penn State Worthington Scranton.
Leading the Elmira women was rookie talent
Hannah Lundgren '18, who ran the 4,000-meter race with a time of 18:51.20. The Horseheads native claimed a third place finish at Elmira's inaugural meet, making her the only EC runner to place inside the top 10.
In addition to Lundgren's superb time, Elmira had a group of runners who also posted great times today. EC had four runners finish in successive order, claiming places 12 through 15.
Shannon Dole '17 came in at 12th with a time of 20:31.00 while
Renée Henck '18 checked-in just 12 seconds later for a 13th place finish.
Julia Ashey '17 took home a 14th place finish with a time of 20:58.70 and
Hannah Gaston '18 was Elmira's last top-20 finisher as she secured 15th place with a time of 21:00.10.
NAZARETH -
Women's results
HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The women's cross country team was in action on Saturday when the Golden Flyers traveled to Hamilton for the Hamilton Short Course Invitational. Nazareth's women's team placed second in the 4-kilometer race behind the top performances of junior
Gabrielle LeBihan and sophomore
Emily Thompson who finished second and third, respectively.
In the women's meet, the Continentals claimed first as they finished with 30 team points, followed by Nazareth's 45 points, and Siena's 51 points.
LeBihan's second-place time was 15:35.3 while Thompson finished moments later with a time of 15:51.6. Sophomore
Jamie DiSalvo was Nazareth's next runner as she finished 11th (16:45.8), and she was followed by junior
Robin Wagner in 14th (16:57.5) and freshman
Claire Ludington in 15th (16:59.7). Freshman
Kimmy Lovett was 19th overall (17:06.5) while junior
Blair Meeson was 23rd (17:21), senior
Michaela Gildemeyer was 25th (17:23.2), freshman
Andrea Larnard was 26th (17:23.7), and senior
Kassandra Lathrop was 34th (19:03.2).
UTICA -
Results
11 Pioneers placed in the top 25 Saturday as the Utica College women's cross country team took home a victory for the third straight year at the Steven A. Warde Invitational hosted by SUNY Cobleskill. Junior standout
Ashton Villeneuve added to her already decorated resume with her first victory of the season clocking a time of 19:12.
Three other Pioneers finished in the top 10 including freshman
Makenna Cooley who took third place with a clock of 19:47. Juniors
Samantha Bennett and
Sarah DePalma rounded out the top 10 as Bennett finished sixth with a time of 20:33 while DePalma maneuvered the course with a final watch of21 minutes flat in eighth place.
Junior
Katherine Pearce and sophomore
Alexandra Buonadonna came in five seconds apart in 12
th and 13
thplace with times of 21:56 and 22:01, rounding out the Pioneer scorecard.
ITHACA - Results
Saturday the Ithaca College women's cross country team placed third out of 13 teams at the Oswego Invitational. Four of Ithaca's seven runners finished in the top 20, including one in the top 10.
Senior
Emily Smith ranked sixth of 189 competitors with a time of 19:10.0. Fellow senior
Alexa Rick ran 19:26.4 and took 11
th place.
Junior runners,
Hannah Wright and
Anna Fay were 15
th and 16
th overall, clocking times of 19:33.8 and 19:36.0.
Anastasia Diamond crossed the finish line in 21
st place, recording a time of 19:43.8.
The final two runners of Ithaca's seven finished 23
rd and 25
th overall. Graduate student
Allison Bartkowiak ran the 5K race in 19:46.4, while sophomore
Emily Drain logged a career best 19:50.6.
ST. JOHN FISHER -
FULL RESULTS
The St. John Fisher College women's cross country team ran to a seventh-place finish at the Pat Peterson Invitational in Oswego, N.Y. on Saturday.
Sammy Van Gee set the pace, finishing the 5K in 19:43.2, good for 20th place.
Katlin Shippy trailed right behind Van Gee at 19:45.7 for 22nd place.
Nicole Graziadei,
Sarah Coon and
Marsadez Diver were Fisher's other top-five finishers.
STEVENS -
RESULTS
The Stevens Institute of Technology women's cross country team tallied 54 total points to finished third overall out of six teams at the Vassar College – Ron Stonitsch Invitational on Saturday.
Three competitors for Stevens finished within the top seven on the 5K course that consisted of 71 runners from NCAA Division I, Division III, NJCAA and unattached runners. Vassar and SUNY New Paltz tied for first with 40 points. The entire field had to deal with tough weather conditions due to heat and humidity.
Junior
Amy Reganpaced the meet with a time of 18:19.61 and bested the next closest runner by 1:24. Regan missed her own course record by less than four seconds.
Classmate
Kate Moyer finished sixth overall for the Ducks with a time of 20:02.54, while sophomore
Kathleen Kalbian crossed in 20:02.91 to take seventh overall.
Senior
Christine Hecker clocked a time of 21:24.15 to take 19th, while sophomore
Kaela Earrusso (Sparta, N.J.) finished in 21st overall with a time of 21:36.34.
Stevens' last two runners, freshmen
Lauren Logan and
Kiera Sheridan, posted 26th and 30th placements, respectively. Logan completed the course in 22:08.24 and Sheridan crossed in 22:55.94.
