Ithaca Falls To Dickinson In Road Contest
CARLISLE, Pa. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team lost to Dickinson Sunday afternoon, falling to the Red Devils by a score of 4-1 at Miller Memorial Field.
Sophomore
Sean Forward scored the lone goal for the Bombers, while senior goalkeeper
Jordan Gentile stopped 4-of-8 shots in just over 72 minutes of play. Freshman goalkeeper
Dan Hinckley played the final 17:50 of the second half, marking his first action as a Bomber. Forward,
Aziz Farouk and
Brandon Thompson each registered two shots on goal.
Forward got the Bombers on the board first, as he scored his first goal of the season in the 13th minute to give Ithaca the early 1-0 lead.
Dickinson evened the contest with a goal in the closing minutes of the first half, sending the game to the break at 1-1. The Red Devils came out on fire in the second frame, scoring three-straight goals (55:46, 59:26 and 67:59) to jump out to a 4-1 lead. Ithaca was unable to score again, giving Dickinson the victory.
The Bombers' next game on Sept. 13 marks their first home contest of the season, as Ithaca takes on Geneseo at 1 p.m. at Carp Wood Field.
