CLAREMONT, Calif. (January 9, 2015) - Visiting Stevens Institute of Technology dropped a 197-65 women's swimming dual-meet at No. 14 Pomona-Pitzer Friday in Claremont, Calif.
With the loss, the No. 7 Ducks fall to 1-1 on the season in dual-meets. THe Sagehens improve to 2-1 on the season.
Stevens opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as the group of senior

Brittany Geyer, freshman
Sarah Jurczyk and senior
April Lawson combined for a time of 1:53.70.
Sophomore
Danielle Caruso and junior
Elizabeth Heinbach were second and third in the 1,000-yard freestyle, turning in finishes of 11:01.37 and 11:05.04, respectively. Caruso added a fourth in the 200-free (2:01.47), and Rooker did the same in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.81).
Geyer earned the Ducks a win with a 1:10.36 in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Heinbach adding a fourth in the 200-yard butterfly to her line (2:20.04). Hendershot picked up a fourth-place finish on the back of a 2:18.53 in the 200-yard backstroke, and Geyer's second-win of the day came in the 200-yard breaststroke. The senior turned in a 2:30.40 which was 1.56 seconds better than second.
Caruso was second in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking a 5:17.67, and Rooker posted a third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.36. Geyer and Heinbach went three-four in the 400-yard IM, touching at 4:46.77 and 4:46.92, respectively, while the team of Lawson, senior
Nicole Miller, Rooker and Caruso were third in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:50.74).
