Hartwick Falls to Union, Springfield

SCHENECTADY, NY – The Hawks' women's swimming and diving team fell to Union and Springfield on Sunday in a tri-meet held in Schenectady. The Hawks dropped a 170-121 decision to the Dutchwomen. They also fell to the Pride 184-112. Hartwick's dual meet record now stands at 4-9.

The Hawks earned a trio of first-place finishes on the day, all from junior Imma Rutigliano (Tillson, NY/John A. Coleman). It marks the second day in a row she has registered three individual victories. Rutigliano placed first in the 200 free (1:58.76), the 100 free (55.07), and the 200 IM (2:13.57).

Rutigliano would also combine with Kaitlyn Campbell (Bartlett, IL/Glenbard North), Rachel Bellis (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua), and Ally Agate (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) for a second-place showing in the 400 free relay.

Agate and Gwen Mathias (Sunland, CA/Southwestern Academy) also earned second-place finishes in multiple events. Agate was runner-up in the 100 back (1:02.82) and the 200 back (2:17.61). Mathias was second in the 1000 free (11:11.60) and the 500 free (5:27.03).

The Hawks return to the pool on Saturday, January 17 at Alfred University.
