Morrisville State’s offensive line named to D3football.com Team of the Week
The Morrisville State College football offensive line has received recognition by D3football.com, earning Team of the Week accolades as presented by Scoutware for games played October 23rd and 24th.
The Mustangs unit comprised of freshman Marcus Thompson(Syracuse, N.Y.), sophomore Tyler Cowley (Brooklyn, N.Y.), senior Kenny Maryon (Kingston, N.Y.), sophomore Tyler Hallett(Candor, N.Y.) and senior Fahraad Johnson (Westbury, N.Y.), had a stellar outing against Empire 8 opponent Ithaca College Saturday as they collected the 24-14 victory over the Bombers.
In the contest, Morrisville State racked up 482 yards total offense against the 29th ranked overall defense in all of Division III. They collected 267 yards in the running game against the Ithaca defense, which was ranked sixth-best statistically in Division III, allowing a mere 67.5 yards on average per game.
Morrisville State currently sits 4-3 overall on the season, 3-3 within conference play in the Empire 8. Currently ranked fifth in conference standings, the Mustangs face top Empire 8 ranked Cortland Saturday on Drake Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Morrisville.
