The Ithaca College men's soccer team earned the top overall seed in the upcoming Empire 8 Championship and the right to host the four-team tournament after outplaying Alfred, 1-0, on Saturday, Oct. 31 in an Empire 8 contest.
With the win, the Bombers, who earned their first No. 1 seed since the 2008 season, ended the regular season with a conference mark of 6-1-0 and an overall record of 7-7-2. Stevens, ranked 10th nationally, earned the two seed with a 5-0-2 conference mark on the year. Houghton earned its first trip to the E8 tourney and a rematch with the Ducks which finished in a scoreless tie during regular season play. Elmira claimed the final spot with a 1-0 win over St. John Fisher this afternoon.
