Bean and Malia Named Cosida Academic All-District

Stevens Institute of Technology senior Carly Bean and Nazareth senior Courtney Malia have been named to the First-Team Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Bean was named a CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District 2 honoree, while Malia was honored in District 3. Both will be eligible for Academic All-American honors set to be released in late November. 

The CoSIDA academic honors program takes into consideration excellence in the classroom and on the playing field. Student-athletes are eligible if they have a grade point average of at least 3.30.
 
An electrical engineering major, Bean currently has a 3.92 grade point average. She is tied for fourth on the team with six goals, four assists and 16 points this season. Bean also has tallied a pair of game-winning goals.
 
Malia has delivered in the classroom with a 3.99 grade-point average as a Math Education major. She has served the athletic department as a Student Athlete Mentor and has been a regular fixture on the college's Dean's List, which recognizes students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher. During the 2015 season she has contributed one goal and two assists.
