DANBURY, CT – The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its Women's Tennis Players of the Mont, for the month of September, with a pair of Hartwick athletes being honored. Kelly Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) earned Co-Player of the Month, while Kelli Ryan (Plattsburgh, NY/Seton Catholic) was named Co-Rookie of the Month. Both players helped the Hawks to a program-record eight-straight wins (8-0) to start the season.

Napolitano, who shares the award with Colby-Sawyer senior Ashlyn Ramsay, went unbeaten in the month of September, winning all eight of her singles matches. Napolitano defeated Empire 8 opponents from Elmira, Houghton, Alfred, Utica and St. John Fisher as the Hawks opened their conference slate with five-straight wins for the first time and clinched a conference playoff berth in the process. Napolitano dropped just two sets in eight September matches. She also began the season 7-1 in doubles play with two different partners.

Ryan was the month's top rookie along with Suffolk University's Valentina Medina. Ryan began her collegiate career with seven victories in her first seven singles matches in September. She did not drop a set and only lost a grand total of 12 games in her seven wins. Ryan has Empire 8 Conference wins over Elmira, Alfred, Utica and St. John Fisher and helped the Hawks to a spot in the conference playoffs.
