SJFC Women’s Soccer Raises Money for Pancreatic Cancer Research
The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team held its annual "pie in the face" fundraiser in the LeChase Commons on Thursday, Oct. 8 to raise awareness and support for pancreatic cancer research. Fisher faculty, staff, and coaches kindly offered their time participating in the event from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., taking pies in the face for this admirable cause.
The fundraiser is in its third year of operation in memory of Mike McCabe, the late brother of head coach
Jill McCabe, who passed away from this disease in 2009.
Thursday's efforts raised over $1,800 to donate to the Lustgarten foundation. Cablevision, who also endured a loss of a top executive to pancreatic cancer, supports this foundation by underwriting all the operational expenses to ensure that 100% of every dollar donated goes to pancreatic cancer research to eventually find a cure.

Fisher will be hosting its Third Annual Pancreatic Cancer Awareness game on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. when it will take on Utica College.
