Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete - Nazareth
Cameron Hess, Junior – Victor, NY/Victor
Cameron Hess helped Nazareth win its fourth dual meet of the year, 181-117 over Fredonia on Saturday. Hess won both distance freestyle races, placing first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:24.07 and the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:00.45. She also finished first in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.43.
Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete - Utica
Raphael Warnon, Senior – Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville
Raphael Warnon broke the old school record set in 2002 in the 400 I.M. by almost two full seconds with a first place time of 4:28.23. He also finished first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.31) and second in the 100-yard backstroke (57.73).
Men’s Basketball Player – Nazareth
Mitch Ford, Senior, Center – Victor, NY/Victor
Mitch Ford averaged 27 points and 13.5 rebounds for Nazareth in two games. He poured in 20 points (7-for-17) and nine rebounds in an 80-70 win over Bluffton in the Coles Classic first round game hosted by Buffalo State, where he also reached the 1,000 career point milestone. On Saturday, he scored a game-high 34 points (12-for-25) in the Championship game while pulling down a season-high 18 rebounds. Ford shot 45 percent from the floor over the weekend and was named to the All-Tournament team.
Men’s Basketball Rookie – Ithaca
Peter Ezema, Freshman, Guard – New York, NY/ High School for Health
Peter Ezema of the Ithaca College men's basketball team averaged 14.6 rebounds and 10 points in three games last week for the Bombers. He started the week with his second double-double of the season against Scranton with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Against the Bridgewater, Ezema narrowly missed his third consecutive double-double with nine points and a career-high 16 boards. The New York native followed up that performance with a six point, 14 rebound effort against the Fighting Tigers.
Women’s Basketball Player – Elmira
Danielle Cleary, Sophomore, Guard – Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy
Danielle Cleary posted back-to-back 20-point performances at the M-Club Classic at the University of Mount Union. She logged a double-double against Mount Union with 21 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. She also had two assists and a steal in against the Purple Raiders. Cleary followed that performance with a 20 point showing against Case Western, just the second time in her career she has scored 20 or more in back-to-back games.
Women’s Basketball Rookie – Houghton
Leslie Moose, Freshman, G/F – Swain, NY/Canaseraga
Leslie Moose helped lead her team to a 3-0 mark to start the season. Defeating Hilbert College on Tuesday 71-69 in triple overtime, Leslie shot 4-9 on the night, went 6-6 from the free throw line, had five rebounds and 14 points. On Friday night, Houghton beat Alvernia University 65-50. Leslie added five points and 11 boards. On Saturday she helped her team win the Championship at the Oswego State Tournament in a 77-41 victory over Wells College. Moose shot 4-8 from the floor (50%), 2-4 from the FT line, had a double-double with 13 rebounds and 10 points. She also had six assists and one block to finish the day.
