ITHACA, N.Y. (November 7, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team continued its run of dominance over the Empire 8 Conference Saturday, knocking-off top-seeded Ithaca College 1-0 in the championship final.

With the win, the Ducks received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament where they'll be making their 13th straight appearance. Senior Carson Pryor was named the championship's most valuable player after leading the Ducks with two goals and 16 shots on the weekend.

As a team, the Ducks outshot Ithaca 19-17 in the final, including a 12-6 margin in the first half. Junior keeper Mike Renna made four saves in net for his sixth shutout of the season.

The Ducks peppered Ithaca's keeper with seven shots over the first 20 minutes, before finally being rewarded with Pryor's goal in the 24th. After receiving a long pass from sophomore Tommy Dorsay, Pryor beat his defender one-on-one, leaving no one between him and the keeper.

The goal was Pryor's team-leading 16th of the season, while the assist was Dorsay's second in as many games.

Stingy Stevens defense kept Ithaca off the board through the remainder of the half and into the second, before the Bombers applied some offensive pressure of their own with a trio of unanswered shots starting in the 64th minute.

The Ducks defense survived the outburst however before withstanding another in the final 12 minutes to clinch the championship and the automatic bid.

Stevens will find out who and where it'll play in the tournament during Monday's selection show starting at 1:30 p.m.
