Stevens Field Hockey Will Host NCAA Tournament Game

HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 9, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team will host Mount Holyoke College Wednesday at the De Baun Athletic Complex in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

The Ducks punched their ticket to the tournament Saturday with a 4-1 win over top-seeded Ithaca College in the final of the Empire 8 Conference Championship. The appearance will the fourth in the history of the program for the Ducks, and the first since 2010.

The winner will travel to Collegeville, Pa to take on Ursinus College in round two.

GAME INFO
Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken.

SCOUTING REPORT
The Lyons won 15 games this season en route to capturing the NEWMAC championship with a 2-1 win over Babson College. Junior Charlotte Wagner led the team with 49 points, while goalie Liz DiCesare was named the conference tournament's most outstanding player.

LEADERS OF THE QUACK
Senior Dailyn Brook led the Ducks this season with 35 points off 14 goals and seven assists, while sophomore Victoria Alvarez tallied 32 points off 12 goals and eight assists. 

TOURNAMENT HISTORY 
The Ducks are 2-3 in three appearances in the NCAA Tournament with two first round wins. This year's appearance is the fourth overall, and first since 2010.

HOME COOKIN'
The Ducks went 7-3 at the De Baun Athletic Complex this season, and enter Wednesday's game riding a three-game home winning streak. 

HOLY NOLIE
After picking-up two more assists this weekend, junior Nolie Prouty extended her season assist total to a team-leading 13. Prouty led the conference this season in that category. 

STONEWALL STUKE
Junior goalie Emily Stukenborg hasn't allowed more than one goal in any of the Ducks last five games. Stukenborg made program history earlier this season when she became the first goalie in the history of the program to record 400 saves.
