The Eastern College Athletic Conference have announced that two members of the Ithaca College men's basketball team were recognized for their outstanding play during the week that ended December 13, 2015.  Sophomore Marc Chasin was named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week while freshman Peter Ezema was tabbed Rookie of the Week after the duo led the Bombers to a pair of wins to close out the fall semester.

Chasin was selected after averaging 32.5 points and 12 rebounds during the two-game stretch that saw Ithaca post a 30-point win over Wells before finishing the week with a season-high 96 points in a 96-85 triumph over Union.

Against the Express, Chasin notched his third double-double of the season with a game-high 27 points to go along with a career-best 15 rebounds.  The Coral Gables, Fla. native followed up that performance by tying his career-high with 38 points against the Dutchmen.  Chasin shot a combined 25-for-41 (.634) with eight 3-pointers.

Chasin heads into the semester break ranked third overall in the Empire 8 in scoring at 23.0 points per game.

Ezema earned E8 Rookie of the Week status for the third straight week after averaging a double-double at the forward position.  The New York City native tallied 14 points and 11 boards against Wells and would go on to add 15 points and 11 more rebounds against Union last Thursday.

Ezema has gotten off to a torrid start to his career in a Bombers' uniform after having pulled down a team-high 92 boards.  He ranks second overall among all conference players and 15th nationally in rebounding at 11.5 per game.

Both will return to action after the winter break when they host Stevens Institute of Technology at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 3 in Ben Light Gymnasium for what will be the conference opener for both squads.
