Chasin Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

ITHACA, N.Y. – Fresh off being named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the Empire 8 and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), Ithaca College sophomore
Marc Chasin was named to D3hoops.com's Team of the Week after guiding the Bombers to a pair of non-conference wins last week.
Chasin, who became the first Ithaca men's basketball player to be named among the nation's weekly elite since Andrei Oztemel in 2010, averaged 32.5 points and 12 rebounds during the two-game stretch that saw Ithaca post a 30-point win over Wells before finishing the week with a season-high 96 points in a 96-85 triumph over Union.
Against the Express, Chasin notched his third double-double of the season with a game-high 27 points to go along with a career-best 15 rebounds. The Coral Gables, Fla. native followed up that performance by tying his career-high with 38 points against the Dutchmen. Chasin shot a combined 25-for-41 (.634) with eight 3-pointers.
Chasin heads into the semester break ranked third overall in the Empire 8 in scoring at 23.0 points per game.
The Bombers will return to action after winter break when they host Stevens Institute of Technology at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 3 in ben Light Gymnasium in what will be the Empire 8 conference opener for both squads.
